Creeds and Confessions
The creed below is a summary of what I believe in terms of a formalized statement of faith. I chose this Creed for two reasons.
One, its conciseness summarizes my doctrine of faith and forms the direction of my practice. I am not inventing (or re-inventing) theological ideas. The things I hold to be true about God, the world, myself were summarized in this confession long before I was born. I have studied the Scriptures and found these truths herein to comport with the Bible, and I would encourage anyone who finds an interest to do the same.
Two, for the sake of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. As the Christian Counseling Family Services practice grows, this page helps you start to determine where we may align in terms of our theological foundations. It is a pathway toward trust and building friendship. You know what I believe and you know whether and to what degree all of the content that is generated on this website flows from a common theological starting point.
The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
